06 Nov Operation Coexist Announces Tommy Simms as New Vice President

This summer the stars aligned when Operation Coexist and popular merch company, Never Take it Off, decided to work together to host the Official Warped Tour After Party in St. Petersburg, Florida. Since the event, the organizations have been closely working together continue to create ways to inspire positive change in youth culture by connecting communities and artists for a good cause.

“Ultimately our mission is the same,” says organization President, Katie Talbert, who has expressed extreme excitement for the teams newest addition. “Even though the concept behind how we reach our goals is very different, the end result is the same. We aspire to inspire through music.”

Tommy Simms is a long time touring musician, loving father, social activist and President of Never Take it Off. “The Never Take It Off Vow Bracelets were created to bring strength to the process of change and choice. Each piece comes with a list of vows to encourage the individual tying it on to never give up, never back down and never stop trying,” says Simms when asked about the meaning behind the merch that his company creates that represent some of the most influential current artists in the industry.

Tommy was also the guitar player in touring rock band “Automatic Loveletter” with sister Juliet Simms. The band released albums on EPIC/SONY/PAPER & PLASTIC before Juliet became a contestant on The Voice in 2011 at which point Tommy changed his focus to NTIO and Juliet went on to have a thriving solo career.

TommyImage2Over the past few months, Simms and Talbert have been working together to create a campaign that will raise awareness on the universal impact that music has on changing people’s lives which the organization hopes to release in January of 2017. The #MusicForChange campaign will feature an archive of “street performance” photos from students, local artists and international touring artists accompanied by their individual testimonies of how music has changed their lives.

One of the most unique aspects of the campaign’s design is that it creates a call to action for all who participate by encouraging artists to “Pay it Forward” after participating in the campaign by sharing with other artists who have inspired them. More details about the campaign will come in the next few months!

Former Vice President and current CEO of Vibe Digital Media, Craig Marolf, will remain as Director of Marketing and take over the responsibilities as a member of the Board of Directors.
